GOOD FRIDAY: Christians Arise!

By on

What are we waiting for? Apologists defend faith, not apologize for it. On Good Friday could you do that? Easily, YES!

Just ask people, “Do you know what Christians celebrate at Easter?” It might sound too easy, too obvious. But it’s good. If they know they will say, “That Jesus arose from the dead.” That puts the idea in their head. Then they might start thinking about it. And if they don’t know, then you can tell them.

In AMERICA, many people do not even know WHAT CHRISTIANS CELEBRATE at EASTER, let alone know WHY we believe it!

“Have you heard of Easter Eggs or an Easter Egg Hunt?” Dr. C asked school-aged Afghani children a few days ago. “No,” they said, clueless but curious. Can you imagine their excitement when a few minutes later Dr. C then sent them hunting in an egg field?

On a university campus a student asked her, “Is Easter about bunnies and chicks?” Seriously, Western culture has been so successful at eliminating basic knowledge of Christianity, that many university students and internationals have no idea what Easter celebrates!
In fact, some do not even know about the secular egg tradition of Easter.

Christians must change that! Jesus told us to go and spread his gospel. He also told us that “obedience is better than sacrifice.” In view of these commands, which is the best way to commemorate Good Friday? One answer is in this short video.

Good Friday is the perfect day to share the evidence for Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection. Dedicate a few hours out of your day, as a sacrifice, to explain WHAT we celebrate. And those of you who have studied apologetics and polemics, reasons WHY we celebrate.

What if you are not an apologist? ANY CHRISTIAN can explain what Easter means. Let others know what we celebrate!

What better day are we waiting for?
